The Wounded Healer

Chiron. The Centaur, the wounded, who was able to heal others, but unable to heal himself.

This is a painting of Pallas Athena holding up the head of the crippled Centaur. I mentioned last week that my son and I have been reading Greek mythology for a little wonder and inspiration in these uncertain times.

Today, astrologically, The Sun, our representative of vitality is in conjunction with Chiron. I know I am not alone in the tears that I shed this morning. I was virtually practicing with my most precious and inner yoga circle, and as we greeted each other in our virtual reality, I could no longer conceal the loss I was feeling.

You see, on this day, Chiron, and this connection to our Sun, and our perception of losses or emotional wounds has come to the forefront of our consciousness. We are facing parts of ourselves in our solitude that need healing or transformation. The Sun becomes a driving force in facing these feelings.

I saw this painting today and was once again moved to tears at the image of the goddess of wisdom supporting the kind and crippled healer. We, as a collective are being asked to cope and heal, both ourselves and each other so that we may see new days. We are being asked to support each other in different forms of isolation and solitude all over the world.

In this realization I realized my tears and these feelings were transforming something big, something necessary in order to feel my connections differently. I, like the rest of you, my beautiful, distantly connected world, am shifting into new routines, a new normal, and a new perspective.

May this day and this powerful aspect give you a new perspective of how we can see and support each other.

The stars align for all of us.
